JFD Charity Shop - Ripley - Now Open!
Following on from the success of the JFD charity shop in Mackworth, we are delighted to announce that on Saturday 5th November, Charles Hanson officially opened JFD's second charity shop at 40 Grosvenor Rd, Ripley. DE5 3JF. From the instant the ribbon was cut a constant flow of visitors flooded in and continued to keep the till ringing throughout the day! The first day's trading was a huge and encouraging success, raising £441.51 towards the centre's running costs.
Our second shop is four times the size of the first and we are branching out into selling second hand furniture, JFD merchandise and pet accessories, as well as all the old favourites of quality clothes, books and household goods.
We are appealing to all our supporters and visitors to this website to help us to make this shop grow from strength to strength. You can help in the following ways:
We are once more appealing for donations of all your second hand clothes, any condition (clothes that cannot be sold can be recycled), books, CD's DVD's, jigsaw puzzles, jewellery, unwanted gifts, household goods, including furniture, the latter of which we are happy to collect if you do not have transport or the item is too large for your vehicle.
We always receive a large amount of electrical goods such as lamps, irons and kitchen equipment some are even brand new and most are in excellent condition, but due to regulations we are unable to sell them without first being PAT tested. Are you, or do you know, an electrician who could volunteer an hour or so a week to do this service for us? This kind but simple gesture could add thousands of pounds to our takings a year. WE NEED YOU! Part of the success of the Mackworth shop has been largely thanks to the regular voluntary workers who help to keep our wage bill to a minimum and we are hoping this dedication will continue at Ripley. You will find a warm and friendly welcome, not to say a cup o' tea and biscuits await you.
Last but not least please visit and support the shop whenever you are in the area, dogs are always welcome so please feel free to bring them in to say hello!
