What is the Faithful Friend Scheme?

The Faithful Friend Scheme was set up in May 2006 It is designed to enable individuals, families, organisations and businesses to sponsor a dog kennel at the centre. The donors' contributions go directly to the running costs of keeping animals at JFD before they are re-homed. Perhaps you would like to sponsor a kennel in memory of a lost loved one - animal or human?

For as little as £2.00 per week you could sponsor a kennel at Just for Dogs, this can be paid monthly by direct debit or as a one off annual donation. We will reward your kindness by:

Sending you (or your designated friend) a Faithful Friend certificate.
Displaying your friend's/lost loved one's name on the kennel you have sponsored.
Acknowledging your sponsorship on our website, with a link to your website if you are a business.

Sponsor a Long Term Dog

The Faithful Friend Sponsor a Long Term Dog scheme was set up in May 2006. It is designed to enable individuals to sponsor a dog that has been at JFD for nine months or over. Such dogs are known as Long Term Dogs. The donors' contributions go directly towards the general care, food, vet bills and annual vaccinations of these dogs.

Some of our dogs have suffered sad and traumatic pasts making them difficult to re-home, and because JFD operate a strict non-destruct policy this results in many 'long term dogs'. For 75p per week (£3 per month or £36 per year) you can sponsor a long term dog of your choice. We will reward your kindness by sending you a certificate with a photo and information about your chosen dog, plus annual news (or sooner if your dog is re-homed) of your dogs progress. You can also visit your dog on open days and even walk it (if its temperament will allow). If your dog is fortunate enough to be offered a home you will be asked to switch your sponsorship to another long term dog of your choice.
